At Leaf to Ember, our commitment to social justice always extends to doing our best to support living wage jobs for workers at American businesses. We’re often asked why we use Imported hemp instead of the American-grown plant. The short answer is that there’s still very little hemp produced in the United States, and what is grown and processed in the United States isn’t nearly as high quality as what other countries are producing.
For the consumer, Hemp is naturally antibacterial, strong & durable, holds it's shape & retains its color better than any other fabric. The more you wear it, the softer it gets. Hemp is breathable to stay cool in warmer weather & warm in cooler weather.
For the planet, Hemp plants help to clean polluted air & land & enrich the soil in which it's planted. Organic by nature, Hemp grows healthy & strong without pesticides. Hemp requires 50% less water & 200% less land than cotton.
